Milosh Inks Low Honors in 2nd Round the Inaugural Saint Francis Red Flash Invitational
Loretto, Pa. – Senior Samantha Milosh earned the low round honors of the Red Flash’s second tournament of the season during the later half of the 36-hole Saint Francis Red Flash Invitational on Monday, Sept. 24 at Immergrun Golf Course by turning in a fantastic 2-over 74. Milosh also led the field for overall score, firing an 85-74, for a two round total of 159.
Finishing just behind Milosh were five members of Youngstown State University, which solidified a first-place finish by a commanding 46 strokes. The Penguins team total amounted to 653 (326-327). Saint Francis made an aggressive charge in round two at Immergrun Golf Course, jumping to second place after they were sitting in third after round one, firing off an aggregate of 699 (367-332).
Lisa Kocin made the second lowest score for the Red Flash, shooting 93-84 for a two round total of 177, good enough for 11th overall. Laura Smith finished with 179 swings (96-83) for the 36-hole tournament, earning her the 15th spot. Stephanie Switzer and Caryn Doege rounded out the top 20 finishers, tying for 18th with cumulative scores of 186.
Robert Morris University placed third with a collective score of 712, while Mount St. Mary’s finished in fourth with total of 740.
The Red Flash will embark upon their next competition at the Rutgers University Golf Invitational in Piscataway, N.J. This will also be a 36-hole affair commencing on Friday, Oct. 12 and Saturday, Oct. 13.
